Community involvement not only contributes to my area knowledge, it typifies the community spirit of Reston residents. Like many of them, I feel it's important to give back to the people and place I call home.

Following my training (graduate of The College of William and Mary, and graduate work at the University of Virginia) and career as a teacher in the Fairfax County Public Schools, I volunteered in the public schools and local independent schools, both of which my two girls attended.
